At Braeburn Primary School, our students worked as Scientists, Technologists, Engineers, Artists and Mathematicians from the Early Years to Year Eight to produce some giant masterpieces. The Big Draw this year was a celebration bringing together Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths: STEAM fuses creative innovation, enterprise, digital technologies and the arts.
Our focus artist was a founder of the Renaissance style, and a painter of one of the most famous paintings in the world, he made great contributions to Science, practiced dissections and laid the foundations for human anatomy. Through his dissections he recognised mathematical links between the measurements of the body. We decided Leonardo Da Vinci was the perfect person to help us discover our STEAM power.
We drew around some of the students on large pieces of paper and made Da Vinci-style Vitruvian Man and Vitruvian Woman creations, making them colourful, and unique. They are on display in the Arts Block.
