Under 19 Netball Champions 2019

FOUR TIMES CHAMPIONS IN FIVE YEARS

The Headline is staggering but true. This year Braeburn had a full strength side and were clear favourites to win, but an injury to our star shooter Kamba Mukanda led to some team difficulties. The group matches proved no problem, dismissing opposition with ease, but with several fingers injured and a shooting problem for Kamba, the team faced a few challenges against an energetic Hillcrest team. There was outstanding adaptation and Lurtanya Dias stepped into the starting line up and eased the pressure. The team adapted brilliantly as a whole and they eventually beat a well drilled Braeburn Garden Estate in the final. A special well done to the girls, who have proved themselves as the finest players and team on the KAIS circuit for a number of years.

BRAEBURN OVERALL POSITION 2ND OUT OF 16 SCHOOLS

AN OUTSTANDING DISPLAY OF ATHLETICS

Kasarani once again provided the setting for another outstanding day of Athletics. Records and standards were once again raised in many areas and all teams that attended are thanked and appreciated for their efforts on the day. Braeburn team should once again be very proud of their overall performance. The under 19 Girls were champions for their age group again and the overall team performance was an excellent 2nd position to a well prepared Turi St Andrews.

JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR

What a rewarding week for the school. The entire cast and it's many assistants and helpers should be highly commended for three outstanding performances of "Jesus Christ Superstar" which commenced on Thursday in front of a schools audience and ended on Saturday Evening. Each performance steadily improved highlighting the casts great ability to take constructive feedback and self reflect leading to improved performance. The cast were rewarded with a fun party afterwards, which they deeply deserved.

TURI CROSS COUNTRY TEAM SPIRIT AND TOUGH TRAINING LEADS TO AN OUTSTANDING 2ND POSITION OVERALL

Team Braeburn travelled gallantly and once again nervously to the high altitude Cross Country destination at Turi. Our team had worked hard both at school and in training at weekends. We were represented by four teams and had high hopes despite the tough competition coming from a total of eleven Schools.

Our team should be very proud again this year finishing overall in 2nd position to an outstanding Turi St Andrews Team. It should be stated that we were not quite full strength as a number of team players were not able to travel. Our athletic position this year looks therefore very promising as we advance towards The International Athletics Championships at Kasarani.
