23rd February 2023
On Thursday 23rd February, Year 1 celebrated 'Rumble in the Jungle Day', and it was a roaring success. The day began with a marvellous parade in which the pupils got to share their amazing and creative jungle costumes with parents, Early Years pupils and the Year 2’s, 3’s and 4’s.
Following that, the day consisted of many jungle activities that helped pupils expand their knowledge of rainforests and jungles. They learnt about the different types of snakes you would find in the jungle, and then made their very own snake pizzas. They also explored the different animals you would find in the jungle through jungle crafts, iPad coding and Beebots. The children listened to jungle noises and replicated them as well as painted to the beats of the sounds. Our ferocious little jungle animals especially enjoyed dancing along to jungle songs and imitating the way different types of animals move.
It was a jungle-tastic day with lots of happy memories made. A huge thank you to all the parents for the amazing costumes that the pupils wore and for all their support.
