A Magical Musical Weekend in the Hills

Despite the chilly weather, spirits soared during the much-anticipated Turi Trip, held from the 24th to the 26th of October. Waterproof tents helped to keep the cold at bay while music and laughter warmed every heart. Children from participating schools embraced each moment of this unforgettable weekend—one filled with friendship, creativity, and a shared love of music.

The group arrived on Friday afternoon, greeted by a hearty lunch that fueled everyone for the afternoon's team-building activities. As the sun dipped behind the hills, the first rehearsal began, setting the tone for a weekend brimming with musical magic. The evening ended around the campfire, with mugs of hot cocoa and stories shared beneath a cloudy sky—no stars in sight, but plenty of warmth and camaraderie to go around.

Saturday was all about music. The day unfolded with sectionals, short breaks, and a full rehearsal that brought all the young musicians together in harmony. As evening approached, pupils dressed in their smartest uniforms for the much-awaited concert. The performance dazzled the delighted audience, showcasing not just talent but teamwork and dedication. The night continued with a lively disco and plenty of snacks—a sweet and joyful finale to a day filled with song and celebration.

Sunday morning began with an early breakfast and the bittersweet task of packing up. Instruments carefully stored, and goodbyes exchanged amid laughter and promises to meet again. Hearts were full, memories plentiful, and melodies lingered long after the buses departed.
