26th June 2025
Year 5 has been exploring the fascinating world of the Vikings in History. They explored the fierce warriors, fearless explorers and skilled craftsmen who built longships to raid and trade across Europe, established settlements in places like Britain and Ireland, and left a lasting legacy in language, culture and place names.
To culminate their learning, a vibrant Viking Curriculum Day was held on Thursday 26th June. It was a rich celebration of history, imagination and hands-on learning. Pupils stepped into the world of Norse legends, carving runes, designing shields, and channelling their inner warriors through drama and music inspired by Viking traditions.
The day was filled with creativity and enthusiasm, as the children explored symbolism, storytelling and rhythm in an immersive and meaningful way. It was a fantastic experience and we are incredibly proud of the curiosity, focus and energy each child brought to the day.
