A Really Royal Day!

4th April 2023

As a way to crown off the topic of ‘Kings and Queens’, Year 1 threw a royal banquet. The children had such fun preparing for the banquet by making placemats, place cards, table decorations, room decorations, home-made scones, jam and cream, cheese and cucumber sandwiches using bread that they made themselves from scratch, and they even came up with entertainment to showcase at the banquet.

All these activities were not only enjoyable, but they helped the children understand royal culture by practically immersing themselves in it; how to correctly lay a table, how to use table manners, food eaten by royals and how it differs from that eaten by common people, as well as the entertainment showcased at royal banquets.

All in all, our pupils enjoyed the afternoon banquet very much, like the princes, princesses and knights that they are.
