A Return to Squash Tournaments

24th February 2023

On Friday 24th February, we saw the return of the IAPS Squash Tournament, which took place at The Banda for girls, and Braeburn for boys. The last tournament had been played in 2019, pre-Covid restrictions, so it was great to see pupils from many of the IAPS schools excited to return to the courts and battle it for first place. 5 schools took: part; Kenton College, The Banda, Braeburn Garden Estate, Peponi House and Braeburn School.

In the Girls category, Tara, Malika and Anissa (all Year 8 students) played really well and displayed good stamina in keeping up with the ball, and as a result they placed 3rd overall.

In the Boys category, Amaan Akbar Mohammed played as seed 1, Marty Ketel as seed 2, and Kristian Tadele as seed 3. The boys put up a spirited fight, losing some matches and winning some. Unfortunately we were unable to win as many points as we would have wanted, ending the tournament outside the medal positions.
