4th November 2025
The Year 1 Dino Day, which took place on Tuesday, 4th November, was totally roarsome! The day began with a parade in which the pupils showcased their creative costumes to cheering parents and pupils. A ‘dinosaurumpus’ followed as children and parents joined us in dancing to our favourite dinosaur songs.
The pupils then jumped into a carousel of fun activities designed to expand their knowledge of this exciting topic. They learnt about fossilisation by making salt dough fossils. Different dinosaur habitats were explored through toys and sensory trays which included an erupting volcano. They investigated coprolites (poo fossils) to learn about dinosaur diets. And finally, by making dino skeletons from pasta, they learnt about dinosaur body shapes and features.
It was a T-rexcellent day and Year 1 love dinosaurs even more than they did before. A huge thank you to all the parents for helping to make it such a roaring success!
