A Successful Day in the Pool for IAPS Swimming

7th February 2026

Our swimmers enjoyed a highly successful day at the IAPS Swimming Championships held on Saturday, 7th February across various venues in Nairobi. Competing in the Under 9, Under 11 and Under 13 age groups, the event provided a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to race against strong competition, achieve personal best times, and represent the school with pride.

It was an exciting and rewarding day for Braeburn School, who finished 3rd overall out of 10 participating schools. The Under 9 gala took place at Peponi School, where ten of our swimmers competed in their first-ever IAPS competition. Despite their limited experience, they demonstrated remarkable confidence and resilience, securing podium finishes and finishing 3rd overall with an impressive 127 points. Their performance highlighted both their growing confidence and the strong foundation being built in training.

The Under 11 team competed at Banda School and delivered an outstanding performance, finishing 1st overall out of 10 schools. Meanwhile, the Under 13 swimmers raced at Kenton College, where they secured a superb 2nd place overall. The championships also saw record-breaking performances, with Marvin (Year 8) setting new records in the 100m Individual Medley and 50m Butterfly, and Caitlin (Year 8) setting a new meet record in the 50m Breaststroke.

These results reflect the swimmers’ dedication in training, their teamwork, and their determination on race day. Well done to all our swimmers for their hard work, discipline, and positive attitude throughout the championships.
