A Taste of Sixth Form, Shaping Ideas, Inspiring Futures and Creating New Possibilities

What happens when imagination meets opportunity? This week, Year 11 students were given a glimpse into life in the Sixth Form through a series of inspiring taster lessons, and the Art & Design studio quickly transformed into a hive of creativity and exploration.
Armed with coloured papers, sketches, and plenty of curiosity, students immersed themselves in the fascinating world of geometric design and paper construction. From carefully planned compositions to striking abstract forms, the session challenged students to think critically, experiment boldly, and discover how simple shapes can be transformed into dynamic works of art.
The atmosphere in the studio was one of focus and excitement. Ideas were shared, designs evolved, and creativity flourished as students experienced first-hand the independence and artistic thinking that define Sixth Form learning. More than just a lesson, it was an opportunity to step into a new chapter, where curiosity is encouraged and individual voices are celebrated.
These taster sessions are designed to give students a flavour of the enriching experiences that await them in the Sixth Form, and judging by the enthusiasm and engagement on display, the future looks exceptionally bright.
