21st March 2026
What a week it was for our hockey stars! Between March 19th and 21st, our athletes took to the pitches across the city and beyond, showcasing incredible skill, unmatched grit, and the true spirit of sportsmanship. From nail-biting penalty shootouts to dominant championship runs, here is how our teams fared.
Under 9 Girls: Silver Success at Braeside Lavington
The action kicked off with our youngest competitors at Braeside Lavington. Our Under 9 Girls were a force to be reckoned with, maintaining an undefeated streak throughout the entire group stages and playoffs.
In a tense and high-stakes final against Brookhouse, the girls fought to a 0-0 draw at the end of regulation time. The match moved to a heart-pounding penalty shootout where, despite a valiant effort, we narrowly missed out on the top spot. We couldn't be prouder of their 2nd place finish—a testament to their focus and teamwork.
Under 11 Girls: The New KAISSO Champions!
On March 21st, the Under 11 and Under 13 teams traveled to Greensteds School for a day of intense competition. The U11 Girls were simply unstoppable. With clinical finishing and a rock-solid defense, they won every single one of their matches.
Their hard work culminated in a spectacular victory, as they were officially crowned the new U11 Girls KAISSO Hockey Champions. Congratulations to the team for bringing the trophy home!
The U13 team faced a unique challenge this weekend. With several key players away performing in the theater production back at Braeburn School, the remaining squad had to dig deep. While they did not manage a medal finish this time around, they deserve a special mention for their performance. The way the team rallied together to cover for their missing teammates was inspiring to watch. They played their hearts out in every match, proving that success is measured in resilience and school pride just as much as in medals.
