Our IGCSE and A Level Drama students recently had the opportunity to attend the Braeburn Players' production of "Boeing Boeing." This classic bedroom farce, set in Nairobi, offered a unique and modern take on the original play.
The students were captivated by the director, Jazz Moll's, masterful use of physical comedy and the ingenious use of a box set design. The box set, a versatile theatrical design that creates a realistic interior space, was effectively employed to enhance the comedic elements of the play. The tight confines of the apartment, with its multiple doors and hidden compartments, provided ample opportunities for the actors to create hilarious situations and physical gags.
Our students were not only entertained but also gained valuable insights into the art of theatre. They observed first hand how physical comedy, set design, and props can be used to enhance storytelling and create memorable characters. The students' enthusiasm and appreciation for the performance were evident as they eagerly met and congratulated the cast after the matinee.
This theatre trip was a valuable learning experience that complemented our students' academic studies. We are grateful to the Braeburn Players for providing such a wonderful opportunity.
