Ancient Greece Day - Musings from a Year 3 Teacher

11th February 2026

They say teachers shouldn’t have favorites, but Ancient Greece Day is definitely mine! It’s a day where our term’s Topic curriculum truly comes to life. From gods and goddesses to mythical creatures and even "Democracy" himself were on display. The creativity and enthusiasm were outstanding.

The atmosphere was full of joy as we danced, wrote in Greek, and sampled Mediterranean treats. To top it off, we held our very own Olympic Games. A special shout out must go to our amazing Team PE who were instrumental in making such a fun event. This year the “Trojans” won the olive wreaths with their heroic skills in javelin, jumping and running.

I am so proud of how hard Year 3 has worked to understand the historic significance of the Ancient Greeks and how their legacies still influence our lives today! This day will make for a wonderful memory from this year.
