Big Draw Winners - Primary School Category
In October 2019 the children from 3 to 13 years old immersed themselves in a day of art exploration and creation in the annual Big Draw art competition. It was a wonderful opportunity to focus on the world around them in different ways on the theme of 'Drawn to Life'.
The video compilation of the day created by Ms Creevey, our Head of Art, was sent to the organisers to share what a superb day everyone had enjoyed. As a result Braeburn Primary School has been announced as the winner of the Primary School category, along with a school in the UK.
Here is what the Big Draw had to say:
"Primary School Award winners Braeburn School Nairobi, Kenya whose energetic exploration of the 2019 theme ‘Drawn to Life’ involved over 700 pupils participating in mindful meditation, creating dancing figures in the style of Keith Haring, taking part in urban sketching around the school grounds, and transforming the schools art block into a “magical” space, creating a large-scale ‘gratitude tree’."
