On Tuesday 26th November, Hollywood came to Braeburn in the form of The Oscars. Some of the talented cast of Blood Brothers were awarded for all their hard work during assembly. Each and every one of them deserve recognition for their contribution to the production, but stand out and committed students had the opportunity to walk down the red carpet and receive their certificate. Each of them were presented with different awards from The Academy such as Best Visual Effects going to the talented projectionist Nelson Mandela or Best Live Action Performance to Jane Hakim. The band received The Eloise Okioga Services to Music Award whilst The Academy Juvenile Award went to Joseph Tomasicchio and Samyak Raja. Even stand out artists had their time in the spotlight as Leo Jones and Musa Mabaso collected their Rising Stars in Art Awards.
However the top four prestigious awards were presented to:
Best Supporting Actor: Joshua Mlati
Best Supporting Actress: Savannah Grantham
Best Actress: Britney Nyamemba
Best Actor: Konstantin Burgess
Miss. Coleman and the production team thank every single member of Blood Brothers- from Mrs. Hill’s organised backstage crew, everyone in tech, the magnificent band and of course the excellent cast for such a professional performance.
