Braeburn Athletes Take to the Training Grounds

23rd September 2023

Braeburn Athletes have had an enthusiastic start to gruelling training ahead of the much anticipated Braeburn Kasarani Athletics Meet slated to take place on the 18th of November. We look forward to hosting participants from nearly 20 schools in a range of track and field events; sprints, middle distance running (800 and 1500 metres), long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, javelin and ball throw.

On Saturday 23rd September, over 80 pupils from the Under 9, 11 and 13 categories turned up for a 2 hour training session that started off with fitness and conditioning activities, then later broke out into groups where our athletes focussed on the discipline they will be competing in. We are impressed with the dedication the Athletics Squad has displayed in attending training sessions. With a little over 1 month and a half to go, this will go a long way in ensuring overall team readiness and a great result for Team Braeburn.

Thank you to the coaches who are working hard to prepare the team, and to the parents who are supporting our pupils and ensuring they show up on time to both early morning and weekend training sessions. Go Braeburn!
