22nd June 2024
On Friday, 21st and Saturday, 22nd June, members of the Braeburn Choir participated in the IAPS Cantata held at Peponi School. This year's Cantata, titled "Kazi," celebrated the valuable contributions of the working population to society, both in Kenya and around the world. The performance recognised a diverse range of professions, from roadside hawkers (peddlers) to accountants, hairdressers and doctors.
The Cantata took the audience on a journey aboard a matatu (minibus), travelling around a city to honour the men and women who work tirelessly to support their families and communities. This creative narrative highlighted the daily efforts of these individuals, underscoring their importance in our lives.
Despite the long rehearsal sessions, the choir thoroughly enjoyed the experience of performing in a mass choir alongside peers from different schools. The event was a memorable and enriching opportunity, allowing them to showcase their talents and celebrate the dignity of work.
