22nd March 2022
On Sunday morning, Braeburn School hosted its first ever Colour Run. The day gave us a long overdue opportunity to celebrate our community spirit that our Braeburn community missed over the past 2 years due to Covid restrictions.
The overwhelmingly positive response to this event was unexpected with over three hundred and fifty participants enjoying the 1km course, several times over, mapped out by our PE department. The day started bright and early with a few warm up exercises lead by our very own Mrs. Welch.
The white Braeburn Colour Run t-shirts needed a bit of priming so at 9am on the dot, the colour festivities began with the most beautiful explosion of colour as the participants ripped open their welcome pack of powder paint . The runners enjoyed the thrill of a few fun obstacles including a ‘watery’ bouncy castle, splashes of coloured powder paint along the run and a balloon arch finishing line designed to ‘bang’, celebrating the success of all the participants!
A big thank you to our catering staff for providing some much-needed refreshments, our Year 8 pupils and our teacher volunteers for ensuring that we left all colourful, our photographers for documenting the day, and finally our support staff for all the set-up and big clean up at the end.
