We were very lucky to have Project Hand Up visit the school to give a puppetry performance to children from Foundation Stage 2 to Year 4. Project Hand Up is a charitable company that use puppetry, magic, and storytelling to educate children across East Africa. Pupils enjoyed an engaging, fun and educational show presented by a team of Hand Up puppeteers. The puppet characters made pupils laugh, dance and answer questions about a range of topics, including being safe in current Covid-19 times.
Darren Collins (Project manager) and Fideles Kyalo (puppeteer), also appeared on Braeburn Horizons to talk about how they became puppeteers and gave us an insight into their experience of having a career that is not quite the ‘norm’. Both Darren and Fideles gave us all some words of wisdom; to work hard; follow the pathway of our passion; and if we can, make that passion into a job.
Thanks to Darren and his team for giving us an insight into what they do.
