19th February 2026
On a cold, drizzly 19th of February, 30 pupils joined approximately 800 of their peers from schools across Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, and Tanzania at Light Academy. At stake: coveted medals, trophies, and — more importantly — a ticket to the global rounds of the World Scholar’s Cup. In the background was the small matter of overall dominance: which school would present the best overall teams?
Over the two days, Braeburn battled heroically in the Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar’s Challenge, and Scholar’s Bowl. A few of our scholars also earned the chance to participate in the Scholar’s Show and the Debate Showcase.
When the closing ceremony arrived on Friday evening, Braeburn stood out. Out of the 800 participants, our pupils posted incredibly impressive results. Dhairya (Year 8) and Kama (Year 7) made history as the first scholars from the school to win the prestigious Jac Khor Trophy for the Junior and Super Junior divisions, respectively. This trophy is awarded to the top-scoring scholar across all subjects in the Scholar’s Challenge. Dhairya also emerged as the overall Champion Scholar across all activities, while Kama finished fifth overall in her category.
To crown it all off, Braeburn produced the top two teams in the Junior division. Dhairya, Rowan, and Ryan (Year 8) finished as first runners-up, while Olivia, Alma, and Jinghan (Year 7) were the overall winners. Maya, Yohanna, and Saira (Year 6) also delivered trophy-winning performances in the Super Junior division.
Congratulations to all our scholars for a fantastic performance!
