During the Easter holiday, four of our scholars (Nathan and Gai -year 7, William and Romessa -Year 6) competed at the World Scholars Cup Regional Round at Braeside. Despite the holiday season, the team prepared diligently, attending both physical and virtual training sessions. Their hard work paid off as they competed fiercely against other top scholars in a variety of rigorous academic and collaborative events.
The first day of the competition featured the Opening Ceremony, followed by the Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, and Scholars Challenge events. On the second day, scholars used clickers for the high-energy Scholars Bowl and had the opportunity to adopt a coveted alpaca mascot. Nathan further distinguished the school by securing a spot in the debate showcase as one of the best speakers, where he expertly defended the motion arguing whether Kenya is headed in the right direction.
When the final results were announced, the Braeburn scholars posted impressive scores and officially qualified for the global round. To cap off the outstanding achievement, Romessa, despite being only in Year 6, emerged as the overall champion in Collaborative Writing. The entire school community offers a hearty congratulations to all four scholars for their exemplary performance and dedication.
