Braeburn Scholars @ Yale University

22nd November 2024

In November, Braeburn School proudly participated in this year’s World Scholar's Cup Tournament of Champions, held at Yale University. With over 70 countries represented by thousands of high-achieving pupils, the competition celebrated global collaboration and academic excellence. Competing in the Junior and Senior divisions, Braeburn sent 11 scholars who showcased their skills in a series of intellectually stimulating events, including Team Debate, Collaborative Writing, Scholar's Challenge, and Scholar's Bowl.

Two Junior teams achieved remarkable success, placing 1st and 5th in Africa and earning an impressive collection of individual and team medals. Notably, Prajeet from the primary school played a significant role in his team’s 5th-place finish in Africa, while Sophia excelled as part of the 1st-place team, and also securing her position as top competitor in Africa.

Beyond the competition, the pupils explored Yale's prestigious campus, where they engaged with Yale students, learning about university life and the opportunities available at such a renowned institution.

The experience extended beyond the campus as the pupils toured New York City, visiting iconic landmarks such as the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, the 9/11 Memorial and Central Park. Guided tours enriched their understanding of the city’s rich history and cultural significance, making the trip both educational and memorable.

Congratulations to Team Braeburn for their exceptional performance and for representing the school with distinction on the global stage!
