8th September 2024
We recently celebrated a momentous occasion as our Year 13 students graduated, marking the end of one chapter and the exciting beginning of another. The ceremony began with a heartfelt procession. Our graduates walked through a corridor of applause, surrounded by their proud parents, friends, and teachers. The energy in the air was palpable as they made their way into the theatre, a symbolic passage from their time at Braeburn into their future endeavours.
The musical talents of our students added a special touch to the event. Milembe opened the programme with a beautiful and intricate piano solo. Later in the program, Imani captivated us with a soulful solo, showcasing the incredible talent we nurture at Braeburn. Emmanuel and Sara were the perfect ending to an emotional evening with their duet of ‘Like I’m Gonna Lose You’.
We were honoured to have two inspiring guest speakers. Mr. Mark Maina delivered a powerful talk on the importance of resilience and finding a community in theatre. He shared personal anecdotes and valuable insights, encouraging our graduates to embrace challenges and seek out supportive networks. Following him, Mr. Njiru spoke eloquently about the significance of communication and being present in the moment. His words were a timely reminder of the impact we can have when we truly connect with those around us.
Head Senator Emmanuel delivered a stirring speech, reflecting on the journey the graduates have undertaken and the bonds they have formed. His words were filled with gratitude, nostalgia, and hope for the future.
As we bid farewell to our Year 13 students, we are filled with a mixture of sadness and pride. We will miss their presence, their contributions, and their spirit. However, we are also excited to see the incredible paths they will forge ahead. We look forward to welcoming them back as alumni, to share their stories and successes with future generations of Braeburn students.
Congratulations to the Class of 2024! We are immensely proud of each and every one of you.
