Braeburn Scoops Top Trophies at the World Scholars Regional Rounds!

17th February 2023

Braeburn pupils had a fantastic experience at the World Scholars Cup regional rounds hosted at Light Academy in Karen on 16th and 17th February. The World Scholars Cup is a wonderful initiative run globally; it encourages pupils to test their knowledge, enhance their creative writing skills, master their debate skills and finally perform in a talent show.

Pupils had to spend time preparing for the quizzes, debates and creative writing tasks, investing their efforts not only in extra-curricular clubs after school, but during the half-term break in the run up to the event. It all paid off with the Braeburn participants qualifying for the global rounds. Our Super Juniors team was decorated as the best overall school, producing the best student in the competition - Felicia Sundar. In addition, Braeburn took first position in the Team Debates and the Scholars Bowl. We are delighted with our pupils’ achievements!

In the next round, Braeburn will be battling it out with other schools from around the world, for a chance to qualify for the World Scholars Cup Tournament of Champions at Yale University, U.S.A. We can’t wait to see how our pupils will get on and how many more trophies, medals and alpacas (emblem of the event) they return with!
