Braeburn Scouts Earn their Cycling Badge.

16th June 2023

On Friday, 16th June, Braeburn Scouts visited Rowallan Scouts Campsite in Kibera to earn their cycling badges. They were super excited to showcase their bike riding skills and spend the day outdoors, participating in 5 main activities:

  • Identifying parts of a bicycle and their functions.
  • Understanding road signs and road safety.
  • Providing first aid in different situations.
  • Cycling.
  • Repairing tyre punctures.

The scouts showed great enthusiasm during all the activities, and had a chance to see Lord Baden Powell’s actual footprint, even trying to fit their own feet in it! The day culminated in all of them receiving their cycling badges.

A big shout out to Kiera Covell of 3S for showcasing impressive in-depth knowledge of key first aid measures, and well done to all the Scouts for the determination they put into earning their badges. SCOUTS WE!
