Braeburn Scouts Plant 120 Trees in Karura Forest

31st March 2023

Braeburn Scouts enthusiastically resumed their mission to plant as many trees as possible last Friday, a mission that had been paused when the global pandemic hit, and again last year when the weather was too dry for newly planted saplings to survive. A total of 120 trees were planted by 29 Braeburn Scouts within Karura Forest, bringing the total to 1095 trees planted by Braeburn Scouts since 2013. In addition to planting trees, the scouts gained valuable knowledge about the different tree species that call Kenya’s urban forest home.

Thank you to the Braeburn parents who supported our scouts and ensured that they had the necessary resources to participate in the tree planting activity. We encourage the entire school community to plant at least 1 tree per person, in order for us to make strides towards a better environment and more sustainable, liveable world.
