16th May 2025
On 16th May, Peponi House Preparatory School hosted the annual Young Programmers Competition, drawing students from schools across the region to showcase their coding, design and problem-solving skills. Braeburn School proudly took part with nine pupils competing across the Under-9, Under-11, and Under-13 categories, demonstrating impressive teamwork, creativity and technical ability throughout the day.
In the Under-11 division, Braeburn earned 1st place in Scratch Coding, 3rd place in Computational Thinking and finished 1st overall in their category. Our Under-13 participants impressed in advanced challenges such as Python programming, 3D modelling with SketchUp and website development using HTML — earning 1st place in both the Python and Design categories. These achievements contributed to Braeburn securing an outstanding 2nd place overall finish in the entire competition.
This year also marked the exciting debut of the Under-9 category, where our youngest coders engaged in hands-on robotic challenges that introduced them to key programming and engineering concepts. Their enthusiasm and curiosity made a strong impression, laying the foundation for future success in STEM learning.
