15th November 2025
On Saturday, 15th November, Braeburn School achieved an extraordinary milestone at Africa’s largest school athletics meet, hosted by Braeburn at Nyayo National Stadium. With 20 schools and over 1,000 athletes competing across the Under 9, Under 11, and Under 13 categories, the event brought together some of the most talented young sportsmen and women in Kenya.
The day was packed with action across both track and field. Sprints in the 75m, 100m, and 200m lit up the track, while the 800m and 1500m races tested stamina and strategy. The 4 × 100m relays delivered some of the most thrilling moments of the competition, with lightning-fast baton changes and nail-biting finishes. In the field events, Braeburn athletes excelled in long jump, high jump, triple jump, ball throw, vortex, discus, and shot put—stacking up valuable points throughout the day.
Equally impressive was the atmosphere created by the Braeburn community. Parents turned out in large numbers to cheer on the athletes, transforming the stadium into a wave of encouragement and school spirit. Braeburn teachers also played a crucial role, officiating and managing events with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Key highlights:
A special thank you goes to the often-unseen heroes who made the day possible: groundsmen, cleaners, drivers, and kitchen staff. Their hard work, organisation, and commitment ensured that everything ran smoothly, from early-morning preparations to the final event.
Braeburn’s victory is a testament to collective effort—athletes giving their all, our PE Staff working tirelessly behind the scenes, and families offering unwavering support. It was a proud and memorable day, and a celebration of what can be achieved when an entire community pulls together.
