13th May 2023
As two Braeburn teams set off for St. Andrew’s Turi and Braeburn Nanyuki on Friday 12th May, spirits were high, with a mixture of nerves and excitement for the massive run that they had trained for in just about 2 weeks. Then on Saturday 13th May, both teams gave it their very best, braving the high altitude and hilly terrain, very different from Braeburn’s training grounds, to achieve an overall improved performance.
At St. Andrew Turi, the most notable performance came from the Under 9 girls, who were 2nd in their category, while the entire team came in 5th place overall. At Braeburn Nanyuki, Berand in Year 7 put up a spirited run, attaining 6th place out of 21 runners in the Under 13 category.
Well done to all the participants who endured many hours of gruelling training with a positive attitude, our parents for supporting our runners and even participating in training sessions, the teachers, and Fred (our groundsman) who was dedicated in marking the training running path in Karura Forest.
