Our Year 12 BTEC sports’ class had a great session on Tuesday that focused on learning how to use the sphygmomanometer, also known as the blood pressure machine accurately. Our class had the good fortune to benefit from the wisdom of our lovely nurse Ms Pauline, who kindly took the time to share her experience and walk us through the ins and outs of this essential medical device. We learned how to measure blood pressure correctly under her expert tutelage, as well as how to successfully communicate the results to people who's results were outside the normal range. Nurse Pauline's insights expanded our knowledge of healthcare and emphasised the value of accuracy and empathy when handling potentially sensitive medical data. It was a priceless lesson and will cherish the memory for years to come, so from the bottom of our hearts thank you.
