The BTEC visit to Cinnabon was educational, special, and unforgettable; it provided all of us with insightful knowledge about how a successful pastry business operates. We had the chance to watch the entire production process, from making the dough to baking the famous cinnamon rolls. We all gained a better understanding of what it takes to operate a successful business. It was also really eye-opening to realise and learn how crucial brand recognition and consistency are to preserving consumer loyalty. The tour was both beneficial and incredibly fun because of the hands-on experience and, of course, the wonderful taste-testing. All things considered, the tour of Cinnabon was a worthwhile way to discover and have a more in-depth understanding of how the food sector operates for all the BTEC students who were lucky to be part of this trip.

On the 31st January, the Year 12 and 13 BTEC class had the opportunity to visit Cinnabon located on Mombasa Road where we learned about how the business launched in East Africa and how they run the business in terms of operations, health and safety etc. We were also allowed to watch the bakers prepare the cinnamon rolls and learn the details of their very precise production process.
We then got to visit the physical location in Village Market where we got to see how they run operations in store and their equipment. After learning about Cinnabon, the team provided us with the opportunity to taste some of the products they sell which were very tasty especially since we were able to watch the production process from the beginning to the end.
