The quality of an education system cannot exceed the quality of its teachers. It is with immense pride that I share news of two significant international appointments that underscore the calibre of expertise your children interact with every single day.
Two of our esteemed Heads of Faculty, Mr Domnick Oyier (Mathematics) and Ms Beth Ndumia (Geography), have been selected as official Cambridge Trainers for Sub-Saharan Africa. Vetted and certified by Cambridge International Education to act as "teachers of teachers", they emerged from a rigorous months-long evaluation involving detailed applications, virtual presentations, and a competitive two-day selection event in Nairobi.
Candidates were assessed on their professionalism, subject expertise, and their ability to lead high-quality professional development. While their current focus is regional, this role is expected to expand to global engagement opportunities over time.

Mr Domnick Oyier, our Head of Mathematics, emerged from the multi-stage selection process as one of the region’s premier educators in mathematics. The Cambridge Trainer Quality Team specifically commended Mr Oyier for his vast subject knowledge and his "warm and engaging" approach to professional development.
By training other teachers across the continent, Mr Oyier ensures our Mathematics department remains at the absolute forefront of curriculum delivery. This recognition further validates the continued success of our IGCSE and A Level Mathematics results, which remain among the strongest in the region.

We equally celebrate Ms Beth Ndumia, our Head of Geography, on her appointment as Cambridge Trainer for Geography for Sub-Saharan Africa. Ms Ndumia was specifically recognised for her unique ability to translate complex geographical concepts into accessible, high-impact learning experiences.
As she trains fellow educators across Sub-Saharan Africa, Ms Ndumia brings a fresh, global perspective back to our classrooms. This ensures our students are not just learning Geography, but are being prepared to excel on the international stage by a recognised leader in the field.
These appointments are more than just personal milestones; they are a testament to the culture of expertise we cultivate at Braeburn. When our teachers are selected to lead and train the global teaching community, it provides our parents with the ultimate reassurance:
Your children are being taught by the very people who set the standard for international education.
Please join me in congratulating Mr Oyier and Ms Ndumia on these outstanding achievements. We are honoured to have such recognised experts leading our academic faculties and inspiring our students towards their own future successes.
