Braeburn asserted its dominance in junior chess this past weekend, pulling off a historic "double" by securing back-to-back championship victories. By sweeping the Inter-Braeburn Tournament on Friday, 24th April and the IAPS Championship on Saturday, the BGR "Knights" have proven to be the ultimate grandmasters of the school-level circuit.

The chess weekend began with our players facing off fellow Braeburn schools. The team showcased incredible depth across the primary levels, proving they have a winning strategy in every age bracket:
With high-ranking finishes and consistent scoring across the Under 8, 10, and 12 divisions, our Knights were crowned the Overall Champions.
The Endgame-Saturday, 25th April
Less than 24 hours later, the team returned to the boards for the IAPS Junior Chess Championship. Despite the quick turnaround and a broader field of elite schools, the Braeburn stamina remained sharp, and our Knights gained the highest number of points for the day.
