Come Back To Colour!

30th October 2022

The 2022 Big Draw Festival theme was Come Back To Colour. The effects of the pandemic on everyone across the world had left us feeling quite 'grey'. Now it is time to embrace the new ‘normal’ and observe, enjoy and reimagine the colour around us.

We had a colourful October 14th where the whole school celebrated the BIG Draw festival with a wide range of artistic activities. It ranged from tie and dye, blowing fireworks and making rainbow scratch away paper. Pupils made colourful landscapes inspired by the work of Alma Thomas. Pupils in UKS2 and KS3 tested their colour mixing skills creating a large scale Pixel painting. KS3 pupils digitally edited colour into pictures of our school and Nairobi inspired by Space Ram. The whole school collaborated in creating a Colourful Cityscape of sculptures; where pupils designed and reimagined how colourful our cities could be.

A range of work is on display in the Arts block to view and get a glimpse into the creativity of the day including our Colourful Cityscape. Please come by to admire the work of our pupils across the school.
