Early Men and Women Take Over the Year 2 Block!

23rd February 2023

On Thursday 23rd February, Year 2s had a fantastic Early Man Day! It was an opportunity for the children and teachers to dress up and share some of the experiences of these prehistoric hunter gatherers.

The day started with a parade around the Key Stage 1 play area, where the children showcased their impressive Early Man clothes, jewellery, tools and some of the weapons used in that era. The parade was amazing; thank you to all our parents who did their best to ensure that our pupils were able to bring the early people to life!

Other activities of the day included cave painting using mud, playing hunting and gathering games on the iPads (fusing the past with the present), making mock bones and jewellery and re-creating Early Man life through drama.

Overall, a lovely and informative day was had by all.
