30th October 2025
The Braeburn Under 7 mixed football team put on an impressive display at the Annual Rusinga Under 7 Mixed Football Festival held on Thursday, 31st October. The young players showed remarkable teamwork, determination, and enthusiasm throughout the day.
The team began their campaign with a tense 0–0 draw against Braeside Lavington before narrowly losing 0–1 to a well-drilled Jawabu School side — their only defeat of the day. Undeterred, the Braeburn boys and girls bounced back brilliantly, defeating the hosts Rusinga 1–0 after an early goal from Ahmad. A solid defensive effort from Denzel, Finn, and Eyad ensured the team held onto their lead until the final whistle.
Their momentum continued with two hard-fought draws — 1–1 against Brookhouse Runda and 0–0 against Brookhouse Karen — showcasing their growing confidence and resilience as a team.
A special mention goes to Lucia, Bilan, and Amen, the only girls on the team, who played every minute of every match without a single substitution — a true testament to their stamina and commitment.
It was a fantastic day of football, filled with energy, sportsmanship, and smiles all around. The children represented Braeburn with pride and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
