Facing Difficult Conversations Together

On Thursday evening we welcomed more than 40 parents and caregivers to an important session on "Explicit Content and Your Child." While this is undoubtedly a challenging subject, it is also one that we cannot afford to avoid in today's digital world.
For two hours, our audience was completely engaged, listening thoughtfully, asking insightful questions and sharing their own experiences. It was encouraging to see such a strong commitment from our parent community to understanding the challenges young people face and how, together, we can respond with wisdom, confidence and compassion.
One of the key messages of the evening was that silence rarely protects children. Honest, age-appropriate conversations, combined with trusted relationships at home and at school, give young people the knowledge, resilience and confidence to navigate an increasingly complex online world safely.
The overwhelming response from parents has been a request for follow-up sessions, and we are delighted to say that these will be offered during the new term as we continue to strengthen this vital partnership between school and home.
My sincere thanks go to Priya Satow for leading such an informative and sensitive session, and to Warwick, Nancy, Jaspreet, Esther, Graciella,and Anthony for their support in making the evening such a success. Most importantly, thank you to every parent who attended. These conversations are not always easy, but they matter. By facing them together, we strengthen the partnership between home and school and better equip our young people to flourish in an increasingly complex world.
