To kick off Mental Health Week, our school came together bright and early for a community yoga session and what a refreshing way it was to start the day! At 8:00am, students and staff from across the secondary school gathered to stretch, breathe, and reset with the help of the amazing James Njuguna. His calm energy and expert guidance set just the right tone.

This wasn’t just about touching toes or perfect poses, it was about hitting pause, tuning into ourselves, and finding a moment of stillness before the day got going. The space felt relaxed, welcoming, and truly inclusive, the kind of vibe that lets everyone exhale, even just for a little while.

Yoga has this quiet power to shift our mindset. Those few minutes of mindful movement and deep breathing? They can work wonders, boosting focus, calming nerves, lifting moods, and helping us bounce back from stress. Students shared how it helped them feel more grounded, while staff left feeling refreshed and recharged.

We hope this is just the start of more mindfulness moments in our school life. Mental health is built in small steps β€” and yesterday morning, we took one together.

So, here’s to more movement, more deep breaths, and more looking after ourselves as individuals and as a community. 🌿
