I take this opportunity to welcome all the students to the beginning of a new academic year.
- Year 9’s; this marks the beginning of your secondary school journey. Make new friends, study new subjects, meet new teachers, indulge in extracurricular activities and of course, lay a strong academic foundation for yourself as you enjoy your secondary school.
- Year 10’s; this is the year that you get grounded in content and skills in all your subject areas. Have a clear focus, maintain a healthy balance and strive to be independent and consistent in your academic pursuit.
- Year 11’s; is the year to cement, review and practice. Focus is the key. Work closely with your teachers and peers. A sense of individual responsibility and independence is paramount. Listen keenly, ask, practice and share.
- Year 12’s; congratulations on your great IGCSE results but don’t be blinded by your current achievement. Instead, be motivated to scale the new heights with greater focus and independence. This is going to be short-lived and more demanding.
- And finally, our exciting Year 13’s, we are proud of your success. We wish you well in your new destinations. We also remind you that once a "Braeburnite", always a "Braeburnite".
ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS THIS TERM
This is the busiest term in our academic calendar. Teaching and learning will mainly focus on syllabus coverage in all subject areas.
Google Classroom remains our mobile learning platform where teachers will regularly post resources and assignments.
We are running refresher Google classroom lessons for all Year 9 students, new students and any other interested students to be fully equipped with the ability to easily access and use this platform.
Assignments will be key to monitoring all students' progress this term. An assignment timetable for Years 9 to 11 can be accessed via this link.
Sixth form assignments are not scheduled but are more and agreed upon between subject teachers and their students.
