9th November 2025
For the fifth consecutive year, the Braeburn Scouts proudly participated in the annual Remembrance Day commemorations in Nairobi, held on Sunday 9th November, at the War Memorial Grounds. This solemn and significant event pays tribute to the soldiers who gave their lives and freedoms in the pursuit of peace, reminding us of the enduring values of courage, service, and sacrifice.
For our Scouts, taking part in this ceremony is far more than a moment of observance—it is a meaningful learning experience. Standing alongside veterans, dignitaries, and representatives from the wider community enables our students to develop a deeper understanding of history, a stronger sense of citizenship, and a profound empathy for those who served. Their involvement symbolises the continuation of remembrance across generations.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the British Chargé d’Affaires, Dr Ed Barnett, for the invitation and for providing our Scouts with the opportunity to be part of this important national moment. We are honoured to contribute to the commemorations and look forward to taking part once again in 2026.
