Inter-House Athletics Competition, Camaraderie and Community in Action

On a very hot - Friday 24th October saw Braeburn High School come alive with colour, energy, and school spirit as students and staff took to the track for our annual Inter-House Athletics Competition. The cheers, determination, and sheer joy on display captured everything that makes our community so special.
The House System - with our four houses Walcott, Tutu, Malala, and Curie is at the heart of life at Braeburn. It encourages teamwork, leadership, and healthy competition, helping students build friendships across year groups and develop the values we hold dear: respect, resilience, and teamwork. Events like House Athletics remind us that sport is not just about winning races, but about supporting one another, celebrating effort, and finding joy in participation.
This year’s competition also formed an important part of our training and team building for the upcoming Braeburn Schools Senior Athletics Championships at Nyayo Stadium on 22nd November, where our top athletes will represent the school with pride. There were also fun activities including egg and spoon and sack races too!
The spirit of camaraderie was clear to see, students cheered each other on, staff joined in the fun, and the atmosphere was electric. A special mention must go to Ms Kaloki - House Coordinator, Mr Ogonji-Bricknell, Deputy Head Pastoral and Team PE, who led by example with some outstanding performances. Thank you to our Director of Sport, Mr Adongo, whose enthusiasm and leadership keep our athletes inspired all year round. Congratulations to Walcott, this year’s overall champions! But in truth, everyone was a winner because what we witnessed was the best of Braeburn: teamwork, perseverance, laughter, and community.
