Braeburn School was buzzing with excitement as the Kenyan Lionesses and the Argentinian Women's Rugby team visited our campus for training sessions ahead of the HSBC Sevens Tournament, set to take place in Nairobi on Saturday 14th February. The prestigious event will bring together men’s and women’s national teams competing under the HSBC SVNS banner, with teams travelling from Africa, Europe, the Americas and parts of Asia.
As part of their preparations, both teams trained on our grounds and took time to engage with Braeburn pupils from Upper Primary and High School. The highlight for many was the opportunity to play friendly games alongside the professionals. Our pupils rose to the occasion, showing great enthusiasm and teamwork as they shared the pitch with some of the sport’s top athletes.
There was an incredible atmosphere throughout the day, with plenty of excitement, awe and long queues for autographs and photos. It was truly inspiring to see our pupils looking up to these elite players—many perhaps imagining themselves in those very jerseys one day. Hosting international teams of this calibre was a proud moment for Braeburn and an unforgettable experience for our young sports enthusiasts.
