Year 5’s Japanese Curriculum Day was a vibrant celebration filled with culture, creativity, and curiosity! The Upper Key Stage 2 block buzzed with excitement as pupils immersed themselves in a variety of hands-on activities that brought the spirit of Japan to life.
Children delighted in crafting and tasting their own bento lunchboxes, discovered the art of storytelling through kamishibai, and joined in traditional sports and games that kept everyone on their toes. Creativity flourished as they built Jacob’s ladders, folded intricate origami, and practiced the art of writing elegant kanji characters.
The day reached its peak with a dazzling fashion show, where pupils proudly showcased both traditional kimonos and their own Japanese-inspired designs — a true blend of heritage and imagination.
From cultural crafts to culinary creations, the day was a joyful celebration of learning, laughter, and global appreciation. Arigatou gozaimasu to everyone who helped make it an unforgettable experience!
