KAISSO U13 Rugby Tournament - Nanyuki

21st June 2022

Our Under 13 2nd team started the long journey to Nanyuki on Friday afternoon in very good spirits. After about half an hour in the Westlands traffic, they were well on their way out of the hustle and bustle of the City, and into the serene environment of the countryside. They rested well at the Anka Resort, where they spent the night, and were ready for the tournament on Saturday morning.

The boys started their title campaign by beating Braeburn Imani, and Rusinga by 3 tries to none, and 2 tries to 1 respectively. Their third game was to determine who was to top the pool and it was against St. Christopher's. The boys tied that game at one try a piece, and were equal to their opponents in every aspect. This meant that the deadlock could only be broken by a toss of a coin. Braeburn won the toss, and topped the pool, which drew the boys to play their semi-final match against hard hitting Oshwal, whom they lost to by 3 tries to 1.

The 3rd & 4th place play offs was against the now familiar St. Christopher's, and after 14 minutes, the boys registered a convincing 3 tries to 1 win, giving them a hard earned 3rd place position, with Omar Azzam getting the Sportmanship Award for the tournament.

Well done boys! A great display of good rugby, spirit and commitment from our 2nd team players.
