KENYA SWIMMING FEDERATION SHORT COURSE NATIONALS SWIMMING CHAMPIONSHIPS OCTOBER 19-21, 2018

Braeburn competed in 60 Individual events and 6 Relays with an elite squad of 10 swimmers. Over 30 Schools took part this year.

Withstanding the blistering heat of Mombasa in Kenya, the De Guzman siblings, Rowena and Risha run away with eleven (11) medals – four (4) golds, five (5) silver and two (2) bronze enabling their team, Braeburn Swim Team to snatch the fifth (5​th​) place overall against 36 teams from all over Kenya and Uganda in the 2018 Kenyan Swimming Federation (KSF) Short Course Nationals Swimming Championships.

                                                

The swimming gala, a qualifier for the World SC Championships on December 2018 in Hangzhou, China, was staged on October 19 to 21, 2018 in Oshwal Academy, off Beach Road, Nyali in Mombasa, Kenya.

                                                

The Braeburn Swim Team was composed of only ten (10) swimmers namely, Abdul Bagha, Risha De Guzman and Njukia Kihara who competed in the Boys 12-13, Hamza Rechchad in the Boys 14-15 and Dale Mwangi in the Boys 16 & over age group. The youngest member of the squad was Ameya Rana who raced in the Girls 10-11 category while the eldest were Rowena De Guzman and Rachel Schoch who saw action in the Girls 16 & over category. The rest of the Braeburn Swim Team were Nurayn Bagha and Savannah Grantham who were both Girls under 14-15 class.
