Kifaru Tops the Braeburn Inter-House Swimming Gala

9th February 2023

The sweltering heat in Week 5 was cooled off at the swimming pool, at the annual Braeburn Inter-House Swimming Gala. Pupils from Chui, Kifaru, Ndovu and Twiga put their human fins to the ultimate test, swimming a number of heats to earn points for their houses using the breaststroke, backstroke, butterfly and freestyle.

There were a total of 3 events; the Under 11 event was held on the Tuesday the Under 13 event on the Wednesday, and the Under 9 event concluded the week's endeavours in the pool on Thursday. For Under 11s and Under 13s, Kifaru emerged as the winner while Twiga emerged the winner for Under 9s. However, Kifaru took the overall pole position with a total of 478 points, followed by Ndovu in 2nd place with 454 points, Twiga in 3rd with 442 points, and lastly Chui with 439 points.

Well done to all the pupils for exhibiting great team spirit in putting in maximum effort for their houses, and a massive thank you to Team PE and the entire teaching team for running such a successful event, ably supported as always by our fine technical and catering staff. It was wonderful to have excellent support from the swimmers' parents, who added to the positive and energised atmosphere and made the event even more exciting for the pupils.
