KS1 & EYFS Swimming Galas

Pupils from Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) participated in a fun-filled swimming gala on Monday 6th March and Thursday 9th March respectively. It was a great opportunity for our youngest pupils to showcase all the skills they had gained in swimming lessons this term, and what an impressive show it was! Not only did they display great determination and zeal to succeed, they did so predominantly in the school’s big pool, which is a wonderful indication of growth and development, given that the majority of them had only ever swam in the shallow pool.
Shouts of triumph, joy and accomplishment could be heard all around the pool as pupils competed in several heats, with those in KS1 gaining points for their houses with every stroke. This encourages team spirit and fosters a sense of belonging to a specific community.
Thank you to all the swimming teachers and pool attendants who go above and beyond to nurture and develop a wide range of skills in our pupils.
