Laughter, learning, and leadership

13th September 2025

In the first week of school this term, the Year 12 and 13 students went on a team building trip in order to familiarise themselves with being the new group of sixth formers. The day started with an obstacle course, which a lot of the students found challenging, but it pushed them to rely on and encourage each other to complete the courses (or at least try to complete them, for those who attempted the highest and hardest level).

Later in the day, the students took part in other activities which included zip lining and a giant swing. Many students decided to push their limits and try the more daunting activities, and found a lot of enjoyment in them. To end the afternoon, there was an organised group bonding experience, where the Year 12s and 13s focused more on mingling between the Year Groups and doing activities that allowed them to talk to people they might not have approached otherwise. Most people found the experience very introspective and had a lot of positive feedback to give when asked publicly at the end.

It was a great way to form quick connections and friendships, which will ultimately help strengthen the Sixth Form bond.
