31st October 2025
October, fondly known as Pinktober, is a special month at Braeburn. It is dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and supporting those affected by it. Throughout the month, pupils and staff proudly wore pink ribbons as a symbol of solidarity, compassion, and hope. The school community also came together to raise funds for the Faraja Cancer Support Trust, an organisation that provides invaluable support to people living with cancer and their loved ones.
The month of awareness culminated in a vibrant Pink Day on Friday, 31st October, when the entire school dressed in shades of pink. The atmosphere was filled with unity and purpose as everyone stood together to show strength for those battling cancer and remembrance for those lost to it.
Adding to the day’s success, FAB (Friends at Braeburn), our ever-supportive parent group, organised a bake sale to raise even more funds for Faraja. Tables were adorned with delicious pink-themed treats, and the generosity from both pupils and parents was truly heartwarming.
Pinktober is a powerful reminder of what can be achieved when the Braeburn community comes together for a meaningful cause. Thanks to everyone for always answering the call — your kindness, generosity, and unwavering support continue to make a real difference in the lives of others.
