10th May 2025
On Friday 9th May, the primary school cross-country team travelled to St. Andrew's Turi for the annual IAPS Cross-Country Competition. The team arrived safely despite the wet and chilly conditions, with our runners remaining upbeat and eager for the challenge ahead.
Saturday morning saw renewed determination as the races got underway. The Under-9s kicked off the competition with a 3km course, followed by the Under-11 girls. The pace and difficulty increased with the Under-11 boys and Under-13 girls, who each ran a demanding 4.75km. The final race featured the Under-13 boys, pushing through an intense 5.2km route.
Team Braeburn showed exceptional grit and sportsmanship throughout the event, even amid challenging situations involving illness and injury. The highlight of the day was Alix’s (Year 6) superb 2nd place finish in the Under-11 boys category — a proud achievement for the whole team.
Well done to the entire team for a hard fought season!
